✨ Sangrand Special Hukamnama Reflection – Sawan Sangrand | 16 July, Thursday | SGGS Ang 134 ✨
ਸਾਵਣਿ ਸਰਸੀ ਕਾਮਣੀ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਸਚ ਰੰਗਿ ਇਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
Sāvaṇ sarsī kāmṇī cẖaran kamal sio piār.
Man ṯan raṯā sacẖ rang iko nām aḏẖār.
🌿 Meaning (English):
In the month of Sawan, the soul-bride blossoms with joy when she falls in love with the Lotus Feet of the Lord. Her mind and body are immersed in the love of the True One, and His Name becomes her only support.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi):
ਸਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ-ਕਮਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇੱਕੋ-ਇੱਕ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
सावन के महीने में वह जीवात्मा आनंदित होती है जिसका प्रभु के चरणों से प्रेम होता है। उसका मन और तन प्रभु के प्रेम में रंग जाता है और प्रभु का नाम ही उसका एकमात्र सहारा बन जाता है।
💫 Reflection:
Sangrand marks the beginning of a new month in the Nanakshahi calendar and offers an opportunity to renew our spiritual journey. The month of Sawan, known for refreshing rains and new life in nature, symbolises the soul being refreshed through love for Waheguru.
Just as the earth becomes green after the rain, the heart blossoms when it is nourished by Naam. Gurbani teaches that real happiness is not found in changing seasons or worldly pleasures, but in developing a loving relationship with the Divine. When the mind is coloured in the love of the True One, every season becomes beautiful.
This Shabad reminds us that Naam is our greatest support. Circumstances may change, people may come and go, but the remembrance of Waheguru gives lasting peace, strength, and purpose. Beginning this new month with Simran, gratitude, and Guru's guidance allows us to walk through life with hope and spiritual joy.
