✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – 27 Vaisakh | 10 May, Sunday | SGGS Ang 694 ✨
ਬਹੁਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਥੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ ॥
ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਸ ਲਗਿ ਜੀਵਉ ਚਿਰ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ॥
Bahuṯ janam bicẖẖure the māḏẖao ih janam ṯumhāre lekhe.
Kahi Raviḏās ās lag jīvao cẖir bhaio darsan dekhe.
🌿 Meaning (English):
For countless lifetimes, I have been separated from You, O Lord; I dedicate this life to You. Says Ravidas Ji: placing my hope in You, I continue to live; it has been so long since I have had the blessed vision of Your Darshan.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi):
ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ—ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ; ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤੇ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
हे प्रभु! मैं अनेक जन्मों से आपसे बिछुड़ा हुआ हूँ। यह जीवन मैं आपको समर्पित करता हूँ। रविदास जी कहते हैं—आप में आशा रखकर मैं जीता हूँ; बहुत समय हो गया है आपके दर्शन किए।
💫 Reflection:
This Shabad expresses a deep longing of the soul—a yearning that goes beyond one lifetime. It reminds us that our connection with the Divine is eternal, yet forgotten in the distractions of the world.
Guru Bhagat Ravidas Ji teaches us to awaken this longing again. When the heart truly feels this separation, it naturally turns towards Waheguru with love and surrender. This human life is precious—it is our opportunity to reconnect, to remember, and to experience that divine union.
Living with this awareness changes everything. Life is no longer just about worldly pursuits—it becomes a journey of devotion, hope, and spiritual awakening.
