✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 955 ✨
ਨਾਨਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਹੇਇ ॥
ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਭਿ ਰੋਜੀ ਦੇਇ ॥
नानक चिंता मति करहु चिंता तिस ही हेइ ॥
जल महि जंत उपाइअनु तिना भि रोजी देइ ॥
Nānak cẖinṯā maṯ karahu cẖinṯā ṯis hī hee.
Jal mėh janṯ upāian ṯinā bẖė rojī ḏee.
🌿 Meaning (English):
O Nanak, do not be consumed by worry; your care rests with the Lord. He created even the creatures living in water, and He provides nourishment for them too.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi - Gurmukhi):
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਪਣੀ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ-ਰੋਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਡੁੱਬ। ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਵੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
हे नानक! अपनी रोज़ी-रोटी और जीवन की चिंता में मत डूबो। तुम्हारी देखभाल की चिंता उस परमात्मा को है। जिसने जल में जीवों को पैदा किया है, वही उनके भोजन का प्रबंध भी करता है।
💫 Reflection:
This comforting Hukamnama speaks directly to one of our greatest struggles—worry about the future. We often become anxious about livelihood, family, responsibilities, and what tomorrow may bring.
Guru Sahib reminds us to look at creation itself. Countless creatures live in places we may never even see, yet Waheguru provides for them. The One who created us has not forgotten us either.
This does not mean that we stop working, planning, or fulfilling our responsibilities. Gurbani teaches us to make sincere efforts without allowing worry to consume our minds. We do our part and place the outcome in Waheguru's hands.
Faith changes our question from “What if everything goes wrong?” to “Why should I lose my peace when Waheguru is with me?”
