🌿 Meaning (English):
My friends and companions have all departed; none has remained by my side. O Nanak, in this time of hardship, the One Lord alone is my true support.

(Hindi):
मेरे मित्र और साथी सब मुझे छोड़ गए हैं, कोई भी अंत तक साथ नहीं निभा सका। हे नानक! इस कठिन समय में केवल परमात्मा ही मेरा सच्चा सहारा है।

💫 Reflection:
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji reminds us that worldly relationships, however precious, cannot always accompany us through every challenge.

There are moments when we feel alone, misunderstood, or abandoned. During such times, Gurbani teaches us to seek strength in Waheguru, whose presence is not limited by changing circumstances.

This teaching does not discourage love or friendship. Rather, it reminds us not to place our entire spiritual dependence upon temporary worldly support.

Through Naam Simran, Ardaas, and faith in Divine Hukam, we can discover courage, patience, and inner peace even during life's most difficult moments.

🌼 Message for Today:
Cherish your loved ones, but remember that Waheguru is your eternal support. Never lose faith during hardship.

🙏 Shared with heartfelt gratitude to Sri Guru Ram Das Ji for His endless blessings. 🙏

FAQs

Q1. What is the meaning of today's Hukamnama from SGGS Ang 1429?

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji teaches that worldly relationships and companionship are temporary. When human support becomes unavailable, the devotee finds lasting spiritual strength and refuge in the One Creator.

Q2. What does "ਸੰਗ ਸਖਾ ਸਭਿ ਤਜਿ ਗਏ" mean?

It means, "All my companions and friends have departed." The verse reflects the temporary nature of worldly relationships and reminds us that human companionship cannot always provide permanent support.

Q3. What does "ਟੇਕ ਏਕ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ" mean?

It means that the One Lord alone is the devotee's support.

In this Gurbani context, Raghunath is used as a Divine Name referring to the Supreme Lord, Waheguru.

Q4. Who composed this Gurbani on Ang 1429?

This Salok belongs to Salok Mahalla 9, composed by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Ninth Sikh Guru.

His sacred Saloks explore the temporary nature of worldly life, detachment, spiritual courage, remembrance of Waheguru, and liberation from fear.

Q5. Does this Shabad mean we should avoid friendships and family relationships?

No. Sikh teachings encourage love, family responsibility, compassion, and participation in society.

The Shabad reminds us that worldly relationships, however meaningful, are temporary and should not replace our spiritual connection with Waheguru.

Q6. How can Gurbani help us when we feel lonely or abandoned?

Gurbani offers spiritual reassurance by reminding us of Waheguru's constant presence.

Naam Simran, Ardaas, Saadh Sangat, and meaningful relationships with supportive people can help us find comfort, connection, and renewed hope.

During hardship, people may experience disappointment, separation, uncertainty, or loss.

Guru Sahib encourages us to remain spiritually grounded and recognise that our deepest source of strength lies in remembrance of the Creator.

Q8. What is the relationship between Naam Simran and inner strength?

Naam Simran encourages awareness of Waheguru and helps cultivate humility, patience, emotional steadiness, and spiritual resilience.

Regular remembrance can help us approach challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

Q9. Does trusting Waheguru mean we should face difficulties alone?

No. Sikh principles encourage Sangat, Seva, compassion, and mutual support.

Trusting Waheguru does not prevent us from seeking help from family, friends, community members, or professionals when necessary.

Q10. How can we apply this Hukamnama in everyday life?

We can practise this teaching by remembering Waheguru daily, appreciating our loved ones, supporting those experiencing hardship, avoiding excessive attachment, and remaining hopeful during uncertainty.

It also encourages us to become dependable companions to others rather than abandoning people when they need support.
