๐ It Can Be Blown
I have personally tested this Shankh and it does blow.
However, because of its age, size and internal structure, it is not particularly easy to blow. It requires the correct lip position, breathing technique, practice and a good strong breath.
Please therefore do not purchase expecting it to produce a strong sound immediately without practice.
This is an old natural shell rather than a modern manufactured blowing conch.
๐ Hindu Spiritual & Puja Use
The Shankh has a long association with Hindu religious and spiritual traditions and is commonly associated with:
Puja and prayer
Mandir decoration
Aarti and ceremonial use
Vishnu-related symbolism
Meditation spaces
Temple dรฉcor
Religious collections
Festive and devotional display
In traditional Hindu belief, the sound and symbolism of the Shankh are associated with purity, auspiciousness and the removal of negative influences.
โฌ Sikh Heritage & Spiritual Interest
The words Sankh / Shankh / conch also occur within the wider historical and scriptural vocabulary of the Indian religious world, including references found in Sikh scriptural and historical contexts.
For Sikh collectors, it may therefore be of interest as a historic South Asian religious and cultural object, particularly for those collecting traditional artefacts connected with Punjab, Indian spirituality and historic devotional practices.
Please note that a Shankh is not one of the Sikh Five Kakaars and is not a required article of Sikh faith.
๐งฟ Nazar / Evil Eye / Spiritual Protection Tradition
Across South Asian traditions, conch shells are sometimes kept in homes, places of worship and spiritual spaces as symbols of auspiciousness, purity and protection from negative influences.
Some people traditionally associate Shankh with:
Nazar / evil eye protection
Warding away negative energy
Creating a positive spiritual atmosphere
Protection symbolism
Purification of a space
Removing negative vibrations
Good fortune and auspicious beginnings
Spiritual strength and positivity
These are traditional cultural and spiritual beliefs and are not presented as scientifically proven effects.

โญ Why This Shankh Is Special
This is not a small modern souvenir shell.
It is a large, heavy and visually striking natural specimen showing substantial age, natural wear and character.
Each ridge, colour variation, surface mark and irregularity is part of the shell's individual natural formation and long history.
The unusual Kodi-style formation, large opening, strong brown-and-cream patterning and substantial weight make it particularly attractive to collectors.
โ ๏ธ Important Vintage Condition Information
This is a genuine old natural shell and therefore shows age-related wear, scratches, surface marks, chips, natural imperfections, staining, rubbing, discolouration and irregularities.
There are visible age-related areas around the edges and opening, all shown clearly in the photographs.
These features should be expected from an old natural item and contribute to its character.
Please enlarge and examine all photographs before purchasing.
No claim is made that the shell is perfect, restored or in new condition.
Because this is a natural shell, exact colour, pattern and surface texture are naturally irregular.
