✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 1429

Cẖinṯā ṯā kī kījīai jo anhonī hoe.
Ih mārag sansār ko Nānak thir nahī koe.

🌿 English Meaning

Why should we be consumed by worry over what belongs to the natural course of worldly life? Guru Nanak Sahib Ji reminds us that this is the way of the world — nothing here remains permanently stable or unchanged.

✨ Reflection

Today's Hukamnama speaks directly to one of the most common struggles of the human mind — Chinta, worry and anxiety about changing circumstances.

Guru Sahib asks:

Why become consumed by worry over something that belongs to the natural course of life?

The next line explains why:

This is the way of the world; nothing here remains permanently fixed.

Much of our worry comes from expecting permanence from a world built upon change.

We want good circumstances to remain forever. We want relationships never to change. We want health, possessions, success and security to stay exactly as they are.

When something changes, the mind asks, “Why is this happening?”

Guru Sahib gently changes the question.

Change itself should not surprise us. It is woven into worldly existence.

Day becomes night. Seasons change. Children grow. Bodies age. Success and difficulty come and go. People enter and leave different stages of our lives.

Recognising impermanence does not mean becoming emotionally detached or pretending that painful events do not hurt.

Nor does Gurbani tell us to ignore problems that require action.

Rather, this wisdom helps us distinguish between responsibility and worry.

If something can be improved, take action.

If an apology is needed, make it. If a problem needs solving, work on it. If someone needs support, help them.

But once we have done what lies within our responsibility, endlessly worrying about what we cannot control does not change the outcome.

That is where Ardas, Hukam and trust become powerful.

We place before Waheguru what we cannot carry alone.

The world may remain uncertain, but the mind can gradually become more stable through Naam and Gurbani.

True peace does not require life to stop changing.

True peace grows when our connection with Waheguru becomes stronger than our fear of change.

🙏 Message for Today

If something is worrying you today, ask yourself two questions:

Can I do something meaningful about it?

If yes, take the right action.

Is it beyond my control?

Then place it before Waheguru through Ardas and ask for the strength to accept Hukam.

May Guru Sahib bless us with wisdom to act where we can, acceptance where we cannot, and a peaceful mind anchored in Naam through every change of life. 🙏
