✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 433 ✨
📅 4 Katak – 20 October 2026 | Tuesday

Ḏaḏai ḏos na ḏeū kisai ḏos karammā āpṇiā.
Jo mai kīā so mai pāiā ḏos na ḏījai avar janā.

🌿 Meaning (English):
Do not blame anyone else; reflect upon your own actions. Whatever I have done, I have received the consequences. I do not place blame upon others.

(Hindi):
किसी दूसरे को दोष मत दो। अपने कर्मों पर विचार करो। जो कुछ मैंने किया है, उसका फल मुझे मिला है। मैं किसी अन्य व्यक्ति को दोष नहीं देता।

💫 Reflection:
Guru Sahib reminds us that true spiritual growth begins with self-examination and taking responsibility for our actions.

When difficulties arise, we often look for someone to blame. Yet Gurbani encourages us to examine our own choices, recognise our shortcomings, and learn from our experiences.

Accepting responsibility does not mean carrying unnecessary guilt or ignoring injustice. It means developing the humility and wisdom to improve ourselves rather than allowing resentment to control our hearts.

Through Naam Simran, honest living, and reflection on Gurbani, we can replace blame with understanding, ego with humility, and anger with forgiveness.

🌼 Message for Today:
Before blaming others, reflect upon your own actions. Learn from mistakes, forgive with compassion, and move forward with Waheguru's guidance.

FAQs

Q1. What does SGGS Ang 433 teach us?

This Gurbani passage teaches the importance of personal responsibility and self-examination. Rather than blaming others for our circumstances, Guru Sahib encourages us to reflect upon our own actions and recognise their consequences.

Q2. What does "ਦਦੈ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਦੇਊ ਕਿਸੈ" mean?

It means, "Through the letter Dadda, I do not blame anyone else." The verse encourages us to acknowledge our own actions and avoid placing unnecessary blame upon others.

Q3. Who composed this Gurbani on Ang 433?

This verse is from Asa Ki Patti, composed by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the First Sikh Guru. The composition uses letters of the alphabet to communicate profound spiritual teachings about human conduct and Divine wisdom.

Q4. What does Gurbani teach about karma?

Gurbani recognises that actions have consequences and encourages individuals to live responsibly. However, Sikh teachings also emphasise Divine Grace, Hukam, and the transformative power of Naam, rather than presenting life as determined solely by past actions.

Q5. Does accepting responsibility mean we should never question injustice?

No. Gurbani's teaching about personal responsibility does not require us to accept mistreatment or remain silent against injustice. Sikh principles encourage truthful living, courage, compassion, and standing up for what is right.

Q6. How can we apply this Hukamnama in everyday life?

We can practise this teaching by reflecting before reacting, admitting mistakes, apologising when necessary, avoiding unnecessary blame, and making thoughtful decisions guided by Gurbani.

Q7. How does Naam Simran help with self-reflection?

Naam Simran encourages awareness, humility, and remembrance of Waheguru. Regular spiritual practice can help us recognise harmful habits, reduce ego-driven reactions, and develop patience and compassion.

Q8. Why is self-examination important in Sikhism?

Self-examination helps us identify ego, anger, greed, attachment, and other tendencies that interfere with spiritual growth. Gurbani encourages us to improve our conduct while remaining connected to Waheguru through Naam and Seva.

🙏 With Heartfelt Gratitude

With deep humility and gratitude, we bow before Sri Guru Ram Das Ji for His boundless blessings, wisdom, and spiritual guidance.

We offer our heartfelt reverence to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, whose timeless teachings remind us that true wisdom begins when we look within rather than searching for faults in others.

May Guru Sahib bless us with the courage to acknowledge our mistakes, the humility to learn from our experiences, and the compassion to forgive others.

May we replace blame with understanding, anger with patience, and ego with truthful living.

May every challenge become an opportunity to strengthen our faith, improve our actions, and walk closer to Waheguru.

ਭੁਲਣ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਅਭੁਲੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥

We humbly seek forgiveness for any unintentional mistakes in presenting or interpreting Gurbani and warmly welcome respectful corrections.

May Waheguru bless every home with peace, good health, wisdom, and spiritual contentment.
