✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 111 ✨
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੀਅ ਉਪਾਏ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਦਾ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਿਆ ॥
लख चउरासीह जीअ उपाए ॥
जिस नो नदरि करे तिसु गुरू मिलाए ॥
किलबिख काटि सदा जन निरमल दरि सचै नामि सुहावणिआ ॥
Lakh chaorāsīh jīa upāe.
Jis no naḏar kare ṯis gurū milāe.
Kilbikẖ kāt saḏā jan nirmal ḏar sacẖai nām suhāvaṇiā.
🌿 Meaning (English):
The Creator brought forth the 8.4 million species of beings. Those upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace are united with the Guru. Their sins are washed away, they become spiritually pure, and through Naam they are honoured in the True Court.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi - Gurmukhi):
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਚੁਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
परमात्मा ने चौरासी लाख योनियों के जीवों की रचना की है। जिस पर वह अपनी कृपा-दृष्टि करते हैं, उसे गुरु से मिलाते हैं। गुरु की कृपा और नाम द्वारा उसके पापों के बंधन कटते हैं, वह भीतर से निर्मल होता है और सच्चे दरबार में नाम से शोभा पाता है।
💫 Reflection:
This Hukamnama reminds us that receiving the Guru's guidance is itself a precious gift of Divine Grace. Among the vastness of creation, the opportunity to hear Gurbani, contemplate its wisdom, and walk towards Waheguru should never be taken for granted.
Guru Sahib then shows us what this Grace should produce within us: transformation. Naam is not simply something to repeat with the tongue; its remembrance gradually cleanses the mind of ego, anger, greed, attachment, and other tendencies that distance us from the Divine.
The real beauty of a person therefore comes from within. When Gurbani shapes our thoughts and Naam settles into the heart, our character becomes more truthful, compassionate, humble, and spiritually pure.

Value the blessing of the Guru in your life. Keep Naam close to your heart, live according to Gurbani, and allow the Guru's wisdom to transform you from within.
