✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 912 ✨
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਕੀਆ ਪਰਵਿਰਤਿ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥ ਕਿਨਹੀ ਕੀਆ ਪੂਜਾ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ॥
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਨਿਵਲ ਭੁਇਅੰਗਮ ਸਾਧੇ ॥ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥
किनही कीआ परविरति पसारा ॥ किनही कीआ पूजा बिसथारा ॥
किनही निवल भुइअंगम साधे ॥ मोहि दीन हरि हरि आराधे ॥
Kinhī kīā parviraṯ pasārā. Kinhī kīā pūjā bisthārā.
Kinhī nival bẖuiangam sāḏẖe. Mohi ḏīn har har ārāḏẖe.
🌿 Meaning (English):
Some make a great display of worldly pursuits, while others make an elaborate display of worship. Some practise difficult yogic disciplines and breath control. But I am humble; I simply worship and remember the Lord, Har, Har.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi - Gurmukhi):
ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦਾ ਦਿਖਾਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਠਿਨ ਯੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
कोई संसार और अपनी प्रतिष्ठा का प्रदर्शन करता है, कोई पूजा-पाठ का विस्तार करता है और कोई कठिन योग-साधनाएँ करता है। परन्तु विनम्र सेवक केवल प्रभु का नाम स्मरण करता और उसी की आराधना करता है।
💫 Reflection:
Guru Sahib reminds us that spirituality does not need to become a display. People may follow many different practices, but outward appearance alone does not determine the depth of our relationship with Waheguru.
The final line brings us back to beautiful simplicity: “ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ” — in humility, remember the Divine.
Gurbani teaches us to look inward. Instead of worrying about appearing religious before others, we can ask whether Naam is changing our heart. Is ego decreasing? Are compassion, honesty, patience, and humility increasing?
True devotion does not require recognition. A quiet heart sincerely remembering Waheguru can hold greater spiritual meaning than an impressive outward display performed for others.

Keep your devotion simple and sincere. Remember Waheguru with humility, live Gurbani through your actions, and let your transformed character speak louder than outward display.
