✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 1383 ✨
ਸਾਢੇ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਮਣ ਦੇਹੁਰੀ ਚਲੈ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੰਨਿ ॥
ਆਇਓ ਬੰਦਾ ਦੁਨੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਤਿ ਆਸੂਣੀ ਬੰਨੑਿ ॥
ਮਲਕਲ ਮਉਤ ਜਾਂ ਆਵਸੀ ਸਭ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਭੰਨਿ ॥
साढे त्रै मण देहुरी चलै पाणी अंनि ॥
आइओ बंदा दुनी विचि वति आसूणी बंन्हि ॥
मलकल मउत जां आवसी सभ दरवाजे भंनि ॥
Saadhé ṫarae maṇ ḋéhuree chalae paaṇee ann.
Aaio banḋaa ḋunee vich vaṫ aasooṇee banėh.
Malkal mauṫ jaan aavsee sabh ḋarvaajé bhann.
🌿 Meaning (English):
The body is sustained by water and food. The human being comes into the world full of hopes and desires. But when the Messenger of Death arrives, it breaks through all barriers.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi - Gurmukhi):
ਇਹ ਦੇਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਅੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਦ ਮੌਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
यह शरीर पानी और अन्न से चलता है। मनुष्य बड़ी आशाएँ लेकर संसार में आता है। परन्तु जब मृत्यु आती है, तो वह सभी द्वार तोड़ देती है और किसी को नहीं छोड़ती।
💫 Reflection:
Gurbani brings us face to face with a powerful reality — life is temporary, but attachment makes it feel permanent. We spend our days building hopes, plans, and attachments, believing we have control over time. Yet, the truth remains: everything we rely on — the body, possessions, and status — is fragile.
This Shabad is not meant to create fear, but awareness. It gently reminds us to shift our focus from temporary ambitions to eternal connection. Instead of living only in future hopes, we are encouraged to live consciously, remembering Waheguru in the present moment.

Live with awareness. What truly matters is not how long we live, but how deeply we connect with Waheguru.
