Bring a piece of authentic Punjabi heritage into your home with this stunning handmade Arjan Vailly / Animal / Maula Jatt style Gandasi.
Inspired by traditional Punjabi folk culture, Bhangra, Giddha, Jago celebrations, Punjabi weddings, village traditions and cultural festivals, this premium decorative Gandasi has been handcrafted using a traditional wooden shaft, extensive brass-style Koka decoration and a removable galvanised iron Gandasi head.
This is our Premium Decorated Version and features significantly more handmade work than our standard Gandasi models.
The silver-coloured Gandasi head can be easily unscrewed and removed from the shaft. Once removed, the shaft may be displayed separately as a traditional Punjabi stick (Khoonda). Similar decorated sticks are also commonly referred to as Salotar and are traditionally associated with Nihang Singh heritage. Decorative sticks of this quality alone can retail for over £50 in specialist shops.
This item took us many years to source and is offered primarily to help preserve and promote traditional Punjabi culture.

Handmade Nature
As this is a handmade product, minor variations are normal and expected.
You may notice:

These are not defects and simply reflect the handmade nature of the item.
Transit Marks
These Gandasi are manufactured and transported in groups before reaching us.
Although every item is individually inspected and wrapped using protective packaging, slight rubbing marks, light scratches or minor scuffs may occasionally occur during transportation and handling.
We use foam protection and careful packaging to minimise this, however minor cosmetic marks are sometimes unavoidable with handmade imported cultural items.
Decoration
The brass-style Koka decoration is applied by hand.
Decoration patterns, spacing and positioning may vary slightly between individual pieces.
Occasionally some decorative nails may show slight greenish residue from storage or transport. This can usually be removed easily with a damp cloth or wet wipe.
