ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ॥ मन रे गुरमुखि अगनि निवारि ॥ गुर का कहिआ मनि वसै हउमै त्रिसना मारि ॥ Man re gurmukẖ agan nivār. Gur kā kahiā man vasai haumai ṯarisnā mār. O mind, become Gurmukh, and extinguish the fire within. ਅਉਖੀ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਦੇਖਣ ਦੇਈ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥ ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ॥   अउखी घड़ी न देखण देई अपना बिरदु समाले ॥ हाथ देइ राखै अपने कउ सासि सासि प्रतिपाले ॥   Aukẖī gẖaṛī na ḏekẖaṇ ḏeī apnā biraḏ samāle. Hāth ḏee rākẖai apne kao sās sās parṯipāle.   He does not let His devotees see the difficult times; this is His innate nature. ਨਿੰਦਾ ਭਲੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਰੰਨਿ ॥  ਮੁਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਨਿੰਦਕਾ ਨਰਕੇ ਘੋਰਿ ਪਵੰਨਿ ॥ निंदा भली किसै की नाही मनमुख मुगध करंनि ॥ मुह काले तिन निंदका नरके घोरि पवंनि ॥ Ninḏā bẖalī kisai kī nāhī manmukẖ mugaḏẖ karann. Muh kāle ṯin ninḏkā narke gẖor pavann. ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਦਿਖਾਵਈ ਅੰਧੀ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ गुर बिनु को न दिखावई अंधी आवै जाइ ॥ Gur bin ko na ḏikẖāvaī anḏẖī āvai jāe. Without the Guru, no one is shown the Way.
