✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 94 ✨
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਜਲ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
मेरा पिआरा प्रीतमु सतिगुरु रखवाला ॥
हम बारिक दीन करहु प्रतिपाला ॥
मेरा मात पिता गुरु सतिगुरु पूरा गुर जल मिलि कमलु विगसै जीउ ॥
Merā piārā parīṯam saṯgur rakẖvālā.
Ham bārik ḏīn karahu parṯipālā.
Merā māṯ piṯā gur saṯgur pūrā gur jal mil kamal vigsai jīo.
🌿 Meaning (English):
My Beloved True Guru is my Protector. I am a helpless child—please care for me. The Perfect True Guru is my Mother and Father. Receiving the Guru’s nurturing grace, the lotus of my heart blossoms.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ):
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਬਾਲਕ ਹਾਂ—ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ! ਮੇਰੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰੋ। ਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰੂਪੀ ਜਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕੰਵਲ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
मेरा प्रिय सतगुरु मेरा रक्षक है। मैं एक असहाय बालक हूँ—हे गुरु जी! मेरी रक्षा और पालन करो। पूर्ण सतगुरु ही मेरे माता और पिता हैं। गुरु की कृपा रूपी जल प्राप्त करके मेरे हृदय का कमल खिल उठता है।
💫 Reflection:
Guru Sahib beautifully describes the loving bond between the soul and the Guru. Just as a child feels secure in the care of loving parents, the soul finds protection, guidance, and comfort in the shelter of the Guru. In moments of uncertainty and difficulty, the Guru becomes our support and strength.
When we remain connected to Gurbani and the Guru’s teachings, our hearts begin to blossom with faith, wisdom, and peace. The Guru’s grace nourishes the soul just as water helps a lotus bloom. Through remembrance of Waheguru, fear fades and spiritual confidence grows.
