ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕੈਸਾ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
ਬੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਰਣਾ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
जिस के सिर ऊपरि तूं सुआमी सो दुखु कैसा पावै ॥
बोलि न जाणै माइआ मदि माता मरणा चीति न आवै ॥
Jis ke sir ūpar ṯūʼn suāmī so ḏukẖ kaisā pāvai.
Bol na jāṇai māiā maḏ māṯā marṇā cẖīṯ na āvai.
🌿 Meaning (English):
O Lord, when You are the Protector of someone, how can suffering overpower them? Yet the person intoxicated by Maya forgets to remember Your Name and does not even reflect upon life's inevitable end.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ):
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਤਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਸਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
हे प्रभु! जिसके सिर पर तेरी कृपा और रक्षा है, उसे दुख कैसे विचलित कर सकता है? लेकिन माया के मोह में डूबा मनुष्य तेरा नाम भूल जाता है और मृत्यु का स्मरण भी नहीं करता।
💫 Reflection:
Guru Sahib reminds us that true security comes from our connection with Waheguru, not from wealth, status, or worldly possessions.
When life becomes comfortable, we may forget the temporary nature of our existence. Maya can distract us from Naam, humility, and our spiritual responsibilities.
Remembering life's impermanence is not meant to create fear. It encourages us to appreciate every breath, live truthfully, and use our precious time wisely.
Through Naam Simran, gratitude, and the Guru's wisdom, we develop inner strength and faith even when life brings uncertainty.

Remember Waheguru in happiness and hardship. Value every breath, remain humble, and never let Maya distance you from Naam.
