✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 5 ✨
ਸਮੁੰਦ ਸਾਹ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ ਗਿਰਹਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਾਲੁ ਧਨੁ ॥
ਕੀੜੀ ਤੁਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਨੀ ਜੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰਹਿ ॥
समुंद साह सुलतान गिरहा सेती मालु धनु ॥
कीड़ी तुलि न होवनी जे तिसु मनहु न वीसरहि ॥
Samunḏ sāh sulṯān girhā seṯī māl ḏẖan.
Kīṛī ṯul na hovnī je ṯis manhu na vīsrahi.
🌿 Meaning (English):
Even kings and emperors with vast wealth and countless possessions cannot compare with the humblest person who never forgets Waheguru.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi - Gurmukhi):
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ-ਭਾਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜੇ-ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
असीम धन-दौलत और राज्य वाले राजा-महाराजा भी उस विनम्र व्यक्ति के समान नहीं हैं जो अपने हृदय में परमात्मा को कभी नहीं भूलता।
💫 Reflection:
Guru Sahib completely transforms our understanding of success. The world measures greatness by wealth, influence, fame, and power, but Gurbani teaches that the greatest wealth is to remain connected with Waheguru.
A person may possess immense riches, yet remain spiritually poor if they forget the Creator. At the same time, someone with very little in worldly terms becomes truly rich when their heart is filled with Naam and gratitude.
Everything we earn in this world remains behind, but our love for Waheguru and the virtues we cultivate travel with the soul. The true measure of a successful life is not how much we own, but how deeply we remember the One who gave us everything.
🌼 Message for Today:
Collect the wealth of Naam before collecting the wealth of the world. A heart that remembers Waheguru is richer than any king.
