✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – 16 Sawan | 31 July, Friday | SGGS Ang 523 ✨
ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤਿਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਹੋਵਣਾ ॥
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਰਖਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਤਹ ਜਾਇ ਖੜੋਵਣਾ ॥
Jio jio ṯerā hukam ṯivai ṯio hovṇā.
Jah jah rakẖėh āp ṯah jāe kẖaṛovaṇā.
🌿 Meaning (English):
As Your Divine Will ordains, so everything happens. Wherever You place me, there I willingly stand.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi):
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
जैसा प्रभु का हुक्म होता है, वैसा ही सब कुछ घटित होता है। जहाँ भी प्रभु मुझे रखता है, मैं उसी को स्वीकार करता हूँ और उसी में संतुष्ट रहता हूँ।
💫 Reflection:
This Shabad teaches one of the deepest principles of Gurbani—living in harmony with Hukam, the Divine Will. We often wish for life to unfold according to our own plans, yet peace comes when we learn to trust that Waheguru's wisdom is greater than our understanding.
Accepting Hukam does not mean giving up on effort or responsibility. Gurbani encourages us to work honestly, make sincere efforts, and fulfil our duties. At the same time, it reminds us to accept the outcome with faith, knowing that whatever happens unfolds according to the Divine plan.
When we stop resisting every circumstance and begin trusting Waheguru's guidance, our minds become lighter. We discover contentment where there was worry, patience where there was frustration, and courage where there was fear. Living in Hukam allows us to move through life with confidence, knowing that the One who guides the universe is also guiding our journey.
