✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – 27 Sawan | 11 August, Tuesday | SGGS Ang 2 ✨
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਉ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
ਕਰਮੀ ਆਵੈ ਕਪੜਾ ਨਦਰੀ ਮੋਖੁ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਏਵੈ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਚਿਆਰੁ ॥
Amriṯ velā sacẖ nāo vadiāī vīcẖār.
Karmī āvai kapṛā naḏrī mokẖ ḏuār.
Nānak evai jāṇīai sabẖ āpe sacẖiār.
🌿 Meaning (English):
In the Amrit Vela, the sacred hours before dawn, remember the True Name and contemplate His greatness. Through our actions this human form is received, but liberation comes through His Grace. O Nanak, know that the True One Himself is all.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi):
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ। ਕਰਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਦੇਹ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
अमृत वेले सच्चे नाम का स्मरण करो और प्रभु की महानता का चिंतन करो। कर्मों से यह मानव जीवन मिलता है, पर मुक्ति प्रभु की कृपा से प्राप्त होती है। हे नानक! सत्य प्रभु स्वयं ही सबमें व्याप्त हैं।
💫 Reflection:
These sacred words from Japji Sahib teach us how to begin both our day and our spiritual journey. Amrit Vela offers a peaceful time when the mind can turn away from worldly noise and connect deeply with Naam.
Yet Guru Nanak Dev Ji takes us further: spiritual liberation cannot be earned through effort alone. We should live truthfully, remember Naam, and perform good actions, but ultimately it is Nadar—Waheguru's Grace—that opens the door to liberation.
This understanding keeps us humble. Simran is not a transaction with the Divine; it is a loving relationship in which we recognise that Waheguru is already present within and throughout creation.
