✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – 6 Sawan | 21 July, Tuesday | SGGS Ang 1426 ✨
Gun gobinḏ gāio nahī janam akārath kīn.
Kaho Nānak har bhaj manā jih bidh jal kao mīn.
If you do not sing the praises of the Lord, this precious human life is wasted. Says Guru Nanak, meditate on the Lord with the same love and dependence that a fish has for water.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji reminds us that human life is a priceless opportunity to realise our connection with Waheguru. While we spend much of our time pursuing success, comfort, and possessions, Gurbani gently redirects our attention to the purpose of this life—to remember the Creator and live in His love.
The comparison of the fish and water is deeply meaningful. A fish does not remember the water only when it is thirsty; it lives in it every moment. In the same way, our relationship with Waheguru should not be limited to times of difficulty. Naam should become the foundation of our daily life, guiding our thoughts, actions, and decisions.
When the mind remains connected to the Divine, life gains purpose and direction. Success becomes an opportunity for gratitude, challenges become opportunities for growth, and every breath becomes a reminder of the One who sustains us. This is the life that Gurbani calls meaningful and fulfilled.
A life connected to Waheguru is a life filled with purpose.
Remember Waheguru with the same constancy that a fish depends on water, and let Naam become the foundation of your life.
