ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ॥
मन रे गुरमुखि अगनि निवारि ॥ गुर का कहिआ मनि वसै हउमै त्रिसना मारि ॥
Man re gurmukẖ agan nivār. Gur kā kahiā man vasai haumai ṯarisnā mār.
O mind, become Gurmukh, and extinguish the fire within. Let the Words of the Guru abide within your mind; let egotism and desires die.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਗ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਝਾ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰ।
