ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੀਨਾ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਜਿਉ ਮਰੈ ॥
नाम बिहूना तनु मनु हीना जल बिनु मछुली जिउ मरै ॥
Nām bihūnā ṯan man hīnā jal bin macẖẖulī jio marai.
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the body and mind are empty; like fish out of water, they die.
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਖਾਲੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਮੰਛੀ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
