ਸਰਬ ਧਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਨ ਇਕ ਬਿਨਉ ਦੀਨਾ ॥ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਜਲ ਹਮ ਮੀਨਾ ॥ सरब धारन प्रतिपारन इक बिनउ दीना ॥ तुमरी बिधि तुम ही जानहु तुम जल हम मीना ॥ Sarab ḏẖāran parṯipāran ik bino ḏīnā. Ŧumrī biḏẖ ṯum hī jānhu ṯum jal ham mīnā. You support and cherish all; I am meek and humble - this is my only prayer. You alone know Your Way; You are the water, and I am the fish. ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਂ ਮਸਕੀਨ, ਇਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਣੀ ਰੀਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੱਛੀ।                                                                      SGGS Ang 1005

ਹੋਇ ਇਆਣਾ ਕਰੇ ਕੰਮੁ ਆਣਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ ਜੇ ਇਕ ਅਧ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਰੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਭੀ ਵੇਰਾਸਿ ॥ होइ इआणा करे कमु आणि न सकै रासि ॥ जे इक अध चंगी करे दूजी भी वेरासि ॥ Hoe iāṇā kare kamm āṇ na sakai rās. Je ik aḏẖ cẖangī kare ḏūjī bẖī verās. If a fool does a job, he cannot do it right. ਨਕਿ ਨਥ ਖਸਮ ਹਥ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਧਕੇ ਦੇ ॥ ਜਹਾ ਦਾਣੇ ਤਹਾਂ ਖਾਣੇ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਹੇ ॥   नकि नथ खसम हथ किरतु धके दे ॥जहा दाणे तहां खाणे नानका सचु हे ॥   Nak nath kẖasam hath kiraṯ ḏẖake ḏe.
