This Black Khanda Sikh Rumal is a traditional Punjabi head covering made from smooth, skin-friendly 100% cotton, suitable for Gurudwara Sahib visits, Sikh ceremonies, Punjabi weddings, Nagar Kirtan, Gurpurabs, Vaisakhi and everyday head covering.

The Rumal measures approximately 50cm × 55cm and is designed to be folded and tied around the head. Its self-tie design allows the wearer to adjust the fit according to their head size and preferred tying style.

🪯 Traditional Manually Screen-Printed Khanda Design

An important feature of these Rumals is the way the Khanda symbols are produced.

These are not pre-printed textile fabrics and are not digitally printed.

We start with a plain black cotton Rumal, and the Khanda symbols are then manually screen printed onto the plain fabric using paint.

The screen is positioned directly onto the cotton, paint is applied through the screen, and the screen is then manually lifted away from the fabric.

Because this is a manual process performed on naturally textured cotton, the resulting Khanda prints will not have the uniform precision of machine or digital printing.

This traditional screen printing gives each Rumal its own individual appearance.

The Khanda symbols on these Rumals are manually screen printed with paint onto an otherwise plain black cotton Rumal. They are not digitally printed and the cotton fabric itself is not manufactured as a Khanda-printed textile.

During production, a printing screen is manually positioned over the cotton Rumal, paint is applied, and the screen is then lifted from the cloth.

Because the screen must be physically lifted away from the fabric, and because cotton has a naturally uneven woven texture, some distortion and variation in the Khanda printing is inevitable.

You may therefore notice:

• Slightly distorted Khanda shapes

• Uneven or imperfect outlines

• Small smudges

• Small gaps within the print

• Uneven paint coverage

• Lighter or darker areas of paint

• Slightly thicker or thinner printed sections

• Minor alignment differences

• Paint spreading into the cotton texture
