✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – 18 Sawan | 2 August, Sunday | SGGS Ang 955 ✨
ਨਾਨਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਹੇਇ ॥
ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਭਿ ਰੋਜੀ ਦੇਇ ॥
Nānak chinṯā maṯ karahu chinṯā ṯis hī hee.
Jal meh janṯ upāian ṯinā bhė rojī dee.
🌿 Meaning (English):
O Nanak, do not be anxious; the Lord Himself cares for you. He created the creatures living in the water, and He provides nourishment for them as well.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi):
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਪਣੀ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ-ਰੋਟੀ ਜਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ। ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
हे नानक! अपने जीवन या जीविका की चिंता मत करो। जिस प्रभु ने जल में रहने वाले जीवों को बनाया है, वही उन्हें भोजन देता है और वही तुम्हारी भी देखभाल करता है।
💫 Reflection:
This comforting Shabad reminds us that Waheguru is the true Provider. Our minds often become burdened with worries about tomorrow—our livelihood, our families, our future, and the many uncertainties of life. Guru Sahib gently reassures us that the One who created all living beings also lovingly provides for them.
This does not mean we should stop working or fulfilling our responsibilities. Gurbani encourages honest effort and sincere living. At the same time, it teaches us not to let worry consume our hearts. We are asked to work diligently while placing our trust in Waheguru's wisdom and care.
When we reflect on the countless creatures that survive every day through the Divine's provision, our faith grows stronger. The same Creator who sustains the smallest life also knows our needs. By replacing anxiety with trust and remembrance of Naam, we experience a deeper sense of peace and gratitude.
