✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – 30 Vaisakh | 13 May, Wednesday | SGGS Ang 268 ✨
ਦਸ ਬਸਤੂ ਲੇ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਏਕ ਬਸਤੁ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਬਿਖੋਟਿ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥
ਏਕ ਭੀ ਨ ਦੇਇ ਦਸ ਭੀ ਹਿਰਿ ਲੇਇ ॥ ਤਉ ਮੂੜਾ ਕਹੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
Das bastū le pāchhai pāvai. Ek basat kāran bikhot gavāvai.
Ek bhī na de-e das bhī hir le-e. Tao mūṛā kaho kahā karei.
🌿 Meaning (English):
A person receives ten blessings and sets them aside, but for the sake of one thing not received, loses faith. If that one is not given and even the ten are taken away, what can the foolish person then do?
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi):
ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੱਸ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਸ ਵੀ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ ਜਾਣ, ਫਿਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
मनुष्य दस चीजें पाकर भी उन्हें भूल जाता है और एक न मिलने पर अपना विश्वास खो देता है। यदि वह एक भी न मिले और दस भी छिन जाएँ, तो वह क्या कर सकेगा?
💫 Reflection:
This Shabad highlights a powerful truth about human nature—we often focus on what we don’t have, instead of appreciating what we already do. Even after receiving countless blessings, the mind becomes restless over one missing desire.
Gurbani teaches us gratitude and acceptance. Everything we have is a gift from Waheguru, given through His Hukam. When we shift our focus from lack to thankfulness, our faith becomes stronger and our mind more peaceful.
True wisdom lies in recognising His grace in every moment, rather than questioning what is not given.
