✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 795 ✨
ਮਨੁ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਤਨੁ ਵੇਸ ਕਲੰਦਰੁ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਨਾਵਾ ॥
ਏਕੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਿ ਬਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਾ ॥
मनु मंदरु तनु वेस कलंदरु घट ही तीरथि नावा ॥
एकु सबदु मेरै प्रानि बसतु है बाहुड़ि जनमि न आवा ॥
Man manḏar ṯan vės kalanḏar gẖat hī ṯīrath nāvā.
Ėk sabaḏ mėrai parān basaṯ hai bāhuṛ janam na āvā.
🌿 Meaning (English):
My mind is the temple, and my body is the humble robe of a seeker. Within my own heart I bathe at the sacred pilgrimage. When the Divine Shabad dwells within my soul, I am freed from the cycle of birth and death.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi - Gurmukhi):
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਇਕ ਸਾਧਕ ਦਾ ਵੇਸ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
मेरा मन ही मंदिर है और मेरा शरीर एक साधक का वस्त्र है। मैं अपने ही हृदय में पवित्र तीर्थ का स्नान करता हूँ। जब गुरु का शबद मेरे प्राणों में बस जाता है, तब मैं जन्म-मरण के बंधन से मुक्त हो जाता हूँ।
💫 Reflection:
Guru Sahib teaches that the greatest place of worship is not found in stone buildings but within our own hearts. A clean mind filled with Naam becomes the true temple where Waheguru is experienced.
Pilgrimages and outward practices have value only when they inspire inner transformation. The real spiritual journey begins when we purify our thoughts, live truthfully, and allow the Guru's Shabad to guide our lives.
When the Divine Word becomes part of our daily living, peace replaces restlessness, and the soul experiences a closeness to Waheguru that no external ritual alone can provide.
