ਕਰਣੋ ਹੁਤੋ ਸੁ ਨਾ ਕੀਓ ਪਰਿਓ ਲੋਭ ਕੈ ਫੰਧ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਮਿਓ ਰਮਿ ਗਇਓ ਅਬ ਕਿਉ ਰੋਵਤ ਅੰਧ ॥
Karno huto so naa keeo pario lobh kae fandh.
Naanak samio ram gaio ab kio rovat andh.
🌿 Meaning:
You did not do what you were meant to do and became trapped in the web of greed. Guru Nanak Dev Ji reminds us — time has passed, so why regret later in ignorance?
💫 Reflection:
Life gives us clear purpose — to connect with Naam, live truthfully, and rise above maya. Yet, we often delay what truly matters, getting caught in greed, distractions, and endless desires.
This Shabad is a powerful wake-up call. It reminds us that समय (time) does not wait. Once it passes, regret cannot bring it back. The pain of “I should have…” is far greater than the effort of starting today.
Being “blind” here is not about sight, but awareness — when we forget our true purpose, we wander aimlessly. But the beauty of Gurbani is that it doesn’t just warn — it guides.
