📖 ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਤਜੈ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਨ ਤਰੈ ਅਉਰਨ ਲੇਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
जो प्रानी ममता तजै लोभ मोह अहंकार ॥
कहु नानक आपन तरै अउरन लेत उधार ॥
Jo paraanee mamtaa tajae lobh moh ahankaar.
Kaho Naanak aapan tarae auran let udhaar.
That mortal who renounces possessiveness, greed, emotional attachment and egotism — says Nanak, he himself is saved, and he saves many others as well.

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ ਅਪਣੱਤ, ਲਾਲਚ, ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਲਗਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
