✨ Daily Hukamnama Reflection – SGGS Ang 268 ✨
ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਬਸਤੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਰਾਖੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਾਨੈ ਮਾਥੈ ॥
ਉਸ ਤੇ ਚਉਗੁਨ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
जिस की बसतु तिसु आगै राखै ॥ प्रभ की आगिआ मानै माथै ॥
उस ते चउगुन करै निहालु ॥ नानक साहिबु सदा दइआलु ॥
Jis kī basaṯ ṯis āgai rākẖai. Parabẖ kī āgiā mānai māthai.
Us ṯe cẖaugun karai nihāl. Nānak sāhib saḏā ḏaiāl.
🌿 Meaning (English):
When we offer back to the Lord what already belongs to Him and willingly accept His Hukam, He blesses us many times over. O Nanak, the Lord and Master is forever merciful.
🌿 ਅਰਥ (Punjabi - Gurmukhi):
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ, ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਦਾਤ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਅਮਾਨਤ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਲਕ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੂ ਹੈ।
🌿 अर्थ (Hindi):
हमारे पास जो कुछ भी है, वह वास्तव में परमात्मा की ही देन है। जब मनुष्य उसकी दी हुई वस्तुओं को उसी की अमानत समझकर समर्पित करता है और प्रसन्नता से उसके हुक्म को स्वीकार करता है, तब प्रभु उसे और भी अधिक कृपा तथा आनंद प्रदान करता है। हे नानक! प्रभु सदा दयालु हैं।
💫 Reflection:
Guru Sahib reminds us of a profound truth: nothing we possess is truly ours. Our abilities, wealth, opportunities, relationships, time, and even this precious breath are gifts entrusted to us by Waheguru.
When we understand this, giving and seva no longer feel like losing something. We are simply using the Guru's gifts in the way they were meant to be used—with gratitude, humility, and compassion.
The Shabad also teaches acceptance of Hukam. We often want life to unfold according to our plans, but spiritual peace begins when sincere effort is accompanied by trust in Waheguru's Will.
The promise of being blessed “four times over” reminds us that what is offered with love and surrender returns as something far greater—contentment, peace, grace, and closeness to the Divine.

Remember that everything you have is Waheguru's gift. Give with gratitude, serve with humility, and accept His Hukam with a willing heart.
