ਏਕੋ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਧਨੁ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਇਸੁ ਧਨ ਕਉ ਤਸਕਰੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਈ ਨਾ ਓਚਕਾ ਲੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
एको निहचल नाम धनु होरु धनु आवै जाइ ॥इसु धन कउ तसकरु जोहि न सकई ना ओचका लै जाइ ॥Ėko nihcẖal nām ḏẖan hor ḏẖan āvai jāe. Is ḏẖan kao ṯaskar johi na sakī nā ocẖkā lai jāe.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the only permanent wealth; all other wealth comes and goes. Thieves cannot steal this wealth, nor can robbers take it away.
ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਹੀ ਅਹਿੱਲ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰ ਤਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੁੱਚਾਲੰਡਾ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
